The Royal Marsden Hospital opened its doors in 1851, as one of the world’s first hospitals dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, education and research. In 2004, Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust was formed as one of the first wave of hospitals to be awarded this status. The Royal Marsden Hospital operates from two centres in Sutton and Chelsea, as well as having a Medical Daycare Unit at Kingston Hospital.
