We require the following:

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician Band 4/5 to fill a full-time role in a hospital in Location.
The role is available to start ASAP for an ongoing period. The starting pay rate for this role is between £18.00 - £23.00 per hours depending on experience. (umbrella equivalent).

Requirements for the role include:

Minimum 2 years Hospital ward-based Experience / GPhC Registered/Accredited ACT/


  • Undertake dispensary based duties and ward-based medicines management activities across a range of specialist clinical areas, including: daily ward visits; accurate drug history taking and documentation; assessment of Patients Own Drugs; counselling of patients / carers regarding medication, managing storage systems for Patients Own Drugs (PODs) and ordering of patient specific medicines as necessar
  • Work closely as a team with the relevant clinical pharmacist regarding the effective and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care particularly regarding the admission and discharge of patients
  • Work to ensure the accurate and timely dispensing of medication in order to enable the prompt supply of medication and facilitate discharge in accordance with the agreed turnaround time.
  • Provide comprehensive, professional and high quality technical support in the provision of pharmaceutical services to wards and departments. This will include liaising with medical and nursing staff, patients and clients.
  • Work to ensure all aspects of good stock control including accurate computer transactions operations, investigation of stock discrepancies, receipt of goods and stock checks are undertaken.
  • Issue and / or check stocks of Controlled Drugs issued to wards and departments under Pharmacist supervision and provide accurate and regular audit of the accuracy of computer and paper records.
  • Participate in quality initiatives (e.g. audits; near miss reviews) undertaken by the Pharmacy Directorate.
