Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 ward-based Support Worker to join a busy team in Ipswich. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of acute mental health practices and learning disabilities within the NHS.

Within this NHS inpatient acute mental health ward, you will work with a defined set of patients. You will provide treatment for a wide range of mental health issues with the aim of returning patients to
their optimum level of functioning.

The ward operates 24 hours a day, and shift patterns include 06:30-14:30, 13:15-21:15 and 20:30-07:00. You will be working on a rota basis, with shifts to suit.

The team are ideally looking for full time support workers, but part time may also be considered for the right candidate.

The pay rate for this locum Band 3 Support Worker role is up to £18 per hour (Umbrella), depending on the shift worked, and is a 3-month contract due to start as soon as possible.

Requirements of the Band 3 Support Worker role:

- You must have an NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- You must have previous experience working with learning disabilities and also on a ward setting
- Previous NHS experience is desirable
- You must have personal safety training or be willing to complete this one-day course prior to starting with the team.
