Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to fill a full-time role in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. The ideal candidates will have a significant understanding of mental health nursing within the NHS.

Your role will be working on Samphire Ward (16 beds), which is a mental health inpatient ward based at Chatterton House in Kings Lynn. Samphire Ward provides assessment and treatment for working ages adults who may be detained under The Mental Health Act. The ward operates 24 hour working. Shift times are:  Early:  07:300 to 15:00; Late: 13:00 to 21:00; Night: 20:30 to 07:30am.
There is a handover of care between each shift to ensure care packages are maintained and each patient’s presentation, risk, daily activity, progress and needs are shared with the whole team. The teams primary focus is on collaborative working; placing great emphasis on the assessment/recovery model.  Many aspects relating to service user recovery is reflected within the assessment tools the patients and staff use and the philosophy that underpins patient centred care.

The Acute Service is busy and challenging but rewarding; you’ll be given the opportunity to work across CRHT and an acute ward. We’re a strong team who work closely together as a multi-disciplinary team which includes nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, support workers and psychiatrists and can offer you the opportunity to work in a supportive environment to build on your skills and experience.
The requirement is to cover mainly day shifts and sometimes night shifts. Both full time and part time hours are available. Times of the shifts are: 07:00 – 15:00, 13:00 – 21:00, 20:30 – 07:30
The pay rate for this Band 5 Mental Health Nurse is £18.00 per hour (umbrella) with a higher rate for any night or weekend working required.
Requirements for this Band 5 Mental Health Nurse vacancy:
  • You must be a registered mental health nurse with a valid NMC
  • You will have completed a placement or have at least 6 months experience working on an acute ward
  • You must be able to commit to at least 3 shifts a week
