Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Learning Disabilities Nurse to fill a full-time role in Central London. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities and the practices within the NHS.
The primary role is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in order to promote health and independence for people with learning disability and mental health need within current care philosophies for learning disability services.
You will take on the role of CPA case coordinator and carry a caseload of customers, including those with challenging behaviours resulting from their enduring mental illness.
You will manage a clinical caseload of customers with an enduring mental illness, including customers with challenging behaviours resulting from their enduring mental illness as agreed with the Team Manager and Strategic Health Nurse in consultation with the Consultant Psychiatrist and provide specialist mental health nursing input, including carrying out assessments, together with risk assessments, implementation and evaluation and monitoring of care plans and risk management plans in conjunction with customers, carers, MDT and other agencies.
This role will be Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, for at least the next 4 months, with a possible extension
The pay rate for this Band 6 RNLD is £25.00 per hour (Umbrella).
Requirements of this Band 6 Learning Disabilities Nurse vacancy:
  • All applications must be registered Learning Disabilities Nurse with Valid NMC pin.
  • You must have previous experience working in a community learning disabilities team
  • You must be a highly motivated individual.
  • Must have good assessment skills.
