Maxxima’s nursing team is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Liaison Nurse to fill a full-time role at North Middlesex University Hospital Psychiatry Liaison Team in North London. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge and skills as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse.
 
The team are looking for highly experienced clinician, senior mental health liaison nurse is required to join and complement the existing team based at North Middlesex University Hospital.
 
You must have a minimum of 2 years working experience in an acute mental health setting to  apply for this role
 
Our team provides a comprehensive specialist service to patients and carers in the general hospital setting. You will be expected to work a shift system across a 24hr period seven days a week, primarily assessing patients that present with mental health problems, self-harm or as a psychiatric crisis. The main clinical responsibilities for the service include: the assessment of working age and older adults attending the Accident and Emergency Department and on acute wards with mental health problems;  the assessment of people presenting with self-harm; alcohol and substance misuse problems, medically unexplained symptoms, antenatal and postnatal women with serious mental illnesses; to support clinical staff in NMUH working with patients with mental health problems. A significant component of this liaison psychiatry model involves teaching and training.
 
This role will be shift work- 24/7- 07:00hrs – 15:30hrs, 13:30hrs-21:15hrs, 20:30hrs – 07:30hrs
 
The pay rate for this Band 6 Liaison Nurse £25.00 per hour for days, £30.00 for nights and Saturdays and £35.00 for Sundays (Umbrella) and is a 6 month position.
 
Requirements of this Band 6 Liaison Nurse vacancy:
 
  • You must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
  • Previous experience of working in Liaison Psychiatry is desirable.
  • You will have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team with consultant psychiatrist, psychiatry liaison nurses, Psychologist, social worker and graduate mental health workers.
