Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to fill a full-time role in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Mental Health and the practices within the NHS.
The CAMEO Team is a service for people aged 14-35 years old who are experiencing symptoms of psychosis for the first time. There is evidence to show that recognising and treating psychotic experiences early leads to better outcomes and an improved chance of recovery. The team are looking for band 6 care co-ordinator (who can be an RMN or Qualified Social Worker) to work full time for initial period of 12 weeks Mon-Fri 9-5pm. Part time hours may be considered.
Your role will be;
  1. To assist specialist assessment and advice where required
  2. To develop alongside the service user their care plan.
  3. To assess and manage on going risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers.
  4. To regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.
  5. To work using assertive outreach approaches to engage the service user and their families
  6. To work using an early intervention for psychosis approach and ethos,
  7. To ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
  8. To act within professional code of conduct at all times.
  9. To provide interventions for service users  agreed with the team.
  10. Care will be delivered under the Care Programme Approach with the qualified person taking on the role of care co-ordinator and working within the Trust’s care Planning Policy.
  11. To manage a caseload of clients with complex health needs.
  12. To work with service users families
  13. To ensure that up to date written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust standards
  14. Attend team meeting
  15. Undertake the duty role
The pay rate for this Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner is £23.00 per hour for days (Umbrella).
Requirements of this Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner vacancy:
  • All applications must be registered mental health nurses with Valid NMC pin or qualified social worker.
  • You must be a highly motivated individual.
  • Must have good assessment skills.
