Job description

The Speech and language team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work in Coventry. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will be needed to review a caseload of children with an Education, Health and Care Plan and to prioritise them based on a prioritisation system that the SLT will be provided with.

Position: Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: 6
Location: Coventry
Hours: Full-Time
Duration: ASAP - 4 Months (with potential for an extension).
Essential skills 
  • Must be HCPC and RCSLT registered
  • SLT qualification
  • Previous paediatric experience 
Job Role: 
  • To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children and young people and to maintain associated clinical records.
  • To continuously develop clinical competence and achieve goals set for personal and professional development, with reference to RCSLT guidelines and Trust appraisal processes.
  • To maintain a high level of speech therapy knowledge and keep abreast of new developments via literature reviews, participation in forums, clinical supervision and research projects, and membership of Clinical Excellence Networks. (CENs).
  • To deliver training to SLTs (including student placements) and the wider workforce and lead in the writing, development and evaluation of training.
