Maxxima’s nursing team is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse to join the Adults Learning Disabilities service based in Lancashire.
 
The team are based at Lytham Hospital, however the role will be working out in the community so a car driver is essential.
 
Your role will be to
  • Work directly with people with a learning disability, and their family or carers, to promote health and wellbeing.
  • Provide specialist assessments and interventions to enable care providers/families to support the individuals health and behavioural needs in a person centred way. 
  • Carry out multi-disciplinary clinical interventions that may include nursing, psychology, psychiatry, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and physiotherapy
  • Provide dynamic risk assessment, promoting positive risk taking, and reducing harm.
  • Joint work with other agencies and health care services to improve healthcare provision and outcomes.
  • Work with the Police and criminal justice services to ensure people with a learning disability receive appropriate holistic care and treatment, if they come into contact with forensic services.
 
This is a part time position working 2 – 4 days a week a week to suit.
 
The pay rate for this Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse vacancy is £23.00 per hour (Umbrella), due to start in October 2020.
 
Requirements of this Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse vacancy:
  • You must be a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with a valid NMC Pin – RNLD
  • Evidence of substantial experience in working with adults with a learning disability  
  • Advanced and developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experienced in caseload management.
  • The ability to assess, analyse and interpret complex situations and react accordingly.
