Maxxima is currently seeking experienced Band 6 Specialist School Learning Disabilities Nurse to fill a full-time, 10am - 2pm role in Swindon. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of working with young people with Learning Disabilities in the community.

The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Specialist School Learning Disabilities Nurse role is £23.00 per hour (umbrella) and is initially a 3-month full time contract with potential for extension.

The community learning disability team (CTLD) is the first point of contact to both inpatient and community services. Individuals accessing the service have a learning disability diagnosis, are under 18 years of age and require a period of joint working to be undertaken prior to transfer.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, within the community, to provide services such as further specialist assessments, such as tests of cognitive functioning, person-led assessments to determine levels of care required within support plan, personalised services which support the individual at home, psychiatric assessments and providing transitioning support for young people transferring into adult services.

Requirements of the role

* You must be a registered learning disabilities nurse with a valid NMC pin
* You must have previous experience working with young people with learning disabilities.
* You must have previous experience working within the NHS
