Job description
Maxxima are currently recruiting for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work in Leicester. The candidate will be part of the clinical team and will work with children and young people to provide high quality assessment, direct and indirect therapy, training and advice for staff.

Banding: 6
Location: Leicester
Hours: Full time
Duration: ASAP-3 months (with potential for extension)

Responsibilities:
- To undertake high quality assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions for each young person, in accordance with individual assessed needs.
- To work closely with young people ensuring a personalised plan of delivery.
- To maintain professional registration and memberships relevant to the profession.
- To work closely with staff in the Homes/ Schools and communicate with placing authorities and external professionals
- To communicate effectively and provide feedback to young people in relation to progress and achievement.
- Must be HCPC Registered
- Must have a relevant SLT qualification
- Experience of working with young people with complex needs.
- Good organisational skills and an ability to work independently & demonstrate initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational skills, time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Skills & experience in working with young people with Autism.
- Skills & experience in working with young people with Social and Emotional Difficulties.
- Awareness of mental health issues
- Experience of working in schools and/or Care Homes
