Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking a Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse and fill a full time role in Chelmsford, Essex. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of working with service users within a Substance Misuse Service.

You will work as a member of Essex STaRS in providing high quality, evidence-based, holistic nursing care to service users in line with your NMC professional code of conduct and Trust policies. You will jointly assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist prescribing packages of care based upon individual service user needs, under the guidance of the Independent Non-Medical Prescriber as per NICE guidance. As required by your Team Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of lower banded staff within your professional group and team locality. This will include the management of these staff in line with agreed Trust HR processes.

The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse role is £23.00 per hour (Umbrella) and is a 1-month placement, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

Requirements of the Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse role:

-Must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC pin

-Registration Mental Health Nurse RMN Part 3 or RGN

-Mentorship preparation

-Evidence of continual professional development

-Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC

-High standard of education

-Good written and spoken English

-Non-medical prescribing qualification
