Job description

The Physiotherapy team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for a Band 8a physiotherapist to cover an exciting job in Berkshire. The successful physiotherapist will be required to provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and management to a highly specialised chronic pain clinical caseload that frequently have complex and / or chronic or life limiting conditions, without supervision.

Job purpose:
  • To undertake an Advanced Clinical Practitioner clinical and leadership role within the Department of Pain Medicine at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
  • To act as clinical lead for developing, restructuring and delivering group based pain rehabilitation group programmes relevant speciality within the Therapies service.
  • To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and management to a highly specialised chronic pain clinical caseload that frequently have complex and / or chronic or life limiting conditions, without supervision.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your clinical and professional activities.
  • To apply expert professional clinical knowledge and leadership skills to ensure that service users receive care/services based on their needs and that all providers deliver these services to the best of their abilities.
  • To develop and maintain close working relationships and communication with users, consultants, commissioners and other existing and potential referrers in order to maximise the effectiveness of the Pain, service whilst ensuring high levels of patient care.

Essential skills:
  • HCPC registered
  • Relevant Physiology Qualification
  • Experience of working within a pain service and delivered group/1to 1 programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering a service based on the needs of the patient
  • Service development and clinical leadership within a multi-faceted organisation
  • Experience of working in a busy and dynamic environment
