Job description
Maxxima have recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Cardiac Charge Nurse who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership for the service. This post is based in Central London, which is easily accessible via public transport.

You will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services.

About the role:

Your main responsibilities as a Cardiac Charge Nurse:
- You will be operationally responsible for the day-to-day management and successful running of the 15-bed cardiac ward and its staff.
- As the charge nurse/sister, you will support the implementation of local strategy, role-modelling and championing clinical excellence and deputising for the Clinical Head of Department/Ward Manager in their absence.
- To work collaboratively alongside our multidisciplinary team, you’ll ensure patients benefit from the best possible treatment and care.
- Professional management is essential, as you’ll need to be equipped for business planning and development, audits and clinical governance, infection prevention, health and safety, and risk analysis.
- NMC Registration
- Cardiac Care postgraduate qualification
- Minimum of ILS, ideally ALS and CALS.
- Extensive experience managing level 1 post Cardiac surgery and Cardiology procedure patients and have a qualification in teaching and assessment (mentorship course or SSSA)
- A minimum of 2 years’ senior staff nurse experience working in a Cardiac ward setting.
