Job description

Maxxima's Social Work team are currently recruiting for Adults Social Workers to fill job roles in East Riding of Yorkshire

The roles will be based within an Adults Team, who are looking for Qualified Social Workers to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The pay rate for this role is £21 - £23 per hour, and the role will initially be a three-month contract, with the likelihood of extension.

We are looking for experienced Statutory Social Workers to work in a busy Adults service

It is essential that this post within the team is maintained temporarily, to support the Futures+ team; the team has experienced an unusually high number of staff leaving, as documented above. This is a qualified social work position that requires a high level of professional competency and skills to ensure that timely and appropriate interventions to safeguard vulnerable customers. The post also provides the team with a valuable and professional source of information and knowledge that is used to support other staff towards safe resolutions in complex situations. The work includes the management of profound, complex and challenging caseloads, and often requires skilled interventions. The post also provides formal supervision to a number of staff within the team and thus contributes to the development and driving up of professional standards across the workforce and ensuring a high quality, responsive, preventative and professional service to the community. The post plays a significant role in ensuring that the operational day to day activities of assessments, support planning, undertaking Duty and 'emergency' response visits are carried out to the vulnerable people that Adult Services support on a daily basis. It is also a key 'player' in a range of multi-disciplinary settings - working with a wide range of professionals across the social, health, health, educational, statutory, private and voluntary sector - such as a Best Interest Meeting, a Safeguarding Vulnerable Adult investigation, a Vulnerable Adult Risk Management (VARM) meeting, MAPPA, EHCP etc. This post carries a caseload that requires a high level of professional support which can range from those requiring assessment through to increasingly complex presentations that require a higher level of intervention. The specialist social worker will also provide support to colleagues in the team as required in interventions with service users. As can be seen, the post is central to the delivery of a high quality service and continues to be key, especially as the complexity of customer presentations increases; requiring an increasing amount of joint work with colleagues in other agencies and the legislation and guidance underpinning our work requires this level of worker to ensure the organisation is compliant.
