Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for an Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant based in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading providers of specialised medical care in the world, focused on providing clinical excellence and superior patient outcomes.

As an Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in the patient’s experience by ensuring smooth running of procedures and assisting patients in a courteous, dignified manner

Employment Type: Permanent, Full time (37.5 Hours)
Hrs: Shift based

On a typical day you will:
  • Assist in Decontamination service, receiving endoscopes, checking, processing to get ready for use and processing to return to the Decontamination Unit.
  • Spend time with patients, ensuring they are continually monitored while in Recovery, recording changes in patient health and alerting the Recovery Nurse.
  • Assist the Consultant Endoscopist while under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Prepare the appropriate equipment prior to the start of a list, which may include wheelchairs, trolleys, endoscopy accessories and undertaking the appropriate checks to ensure the equipment is clean and used safely.
  • Assist the Endoscopy team in ensuring correct equipment and accessories are stocked in procedure rooms at the beginning of the list.
What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • Level 4 NVQ certification in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate
  • Previous experience in an acute/hospital setting 
  • Experience within Endoscopy or a similar environment ( i.e theatres)
