Job description
Maxxima have recently partnered with a Leading Private Hospital. We are currently looking for an experienced Clinical Lead in Hand Therapy who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership for the service and work 22.5 hours per week. This post is based in Central London, which is easily accessible via public transport.

As a Clinical Lead, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services.

About the role:
As a Clinical Lead, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Your main responsibilities as a Clinical Lead:
- To supervise, teach and appraise members of the Hand Therapy team as required.
- To perform an advanced Musculo-skeletal assessment of orthopaedic and plastic surgery hand patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
- To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses in a wide range of highly complex Musculo-skeletal, plastic, and orthopaedic surgery conditions.
- BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or diploma or equivalent.
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
- Evidence of post graduate professional development in hand therapy specialism i.e., BAHT or similar.
- Experience of working with complex plastic and orthopaedic hand surgery.
- Highly skilled in hand therapy splinting and post-operative wound care.
