Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant – ICU based in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s private leading comprehensive clinics in the heart of London.


We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our 29 bed ICU.

The Healthcare Assistant will primarily be involved in assisting nursing caregivers while providing direct patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and always working in a manner that promotes privacy and dignity.

Hrs: Shift based

On a typical day you will:

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels and with a variety of

different stakeholders.

• Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

• Ability to build strong relationships and foster teamwork.

• Excellent customer service.

• Good keyboard and IT skills including Microsoft Office.

• Enthusiastic, confident with a positive attitude.

• Confident using the phone.

• Demonstrates initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus.

• Able to react to unpredictable issues, re-prioritizing own workload.

• Adaptable and flexible approach (providing cover for other Units).

Previous administration experience including minute taking.

• Previous experience within a healthcare setting (i.e. hospital).

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Desirable to be competent in /have had exposure to the use of an electronic heath record system

such as EPIC.

• Previous experience in a private hospital preferred.

• Previous waiting list management /ward clerk position.

• Experience of dealing with members of the public.

• Previous experience of working as part of a team.
 

What will you need to succeed in this role?

• NVQ level 3 or higher; Care Certificate.
• Demonstrates broad experience in the acute care field.
• Track record of achievement of objectives in present and past jobs in the clinical field.
• Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action and adapt to changes.
• BLS provider and qualification required upon hire, or within 3 months of hire.(Desirable)
• Wide range of experience working in acute care specialities and critical care. (Desirable)
• Competent in /have had exposure to the use of electronic clinical systems (EPIC or similar) (Desirable)
