Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Neurorehabilitation Senior Staff Nurse to work in North West London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a private hospital with over four decades of expertise; providing the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care.

Working as a Neurorehabilitation Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients and visitors receive the level of service that conforms to the hospital vision, aspiration and values, providing specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 Hours)
Hours:  Days, Nights & Weekend rotation. Flexibility required.

On a typical day you will:
  • Undertake the first level assessment of the needs of the patient and family.
  • Complete documentation relating to patient care and discuss these with the clinical team.
  • Develop and maintain clinical competencies
  • Facilitate enabling, continuity and consistency of the therapeutic effect of care through consultation with the patient, the family and other health care professionals.
  • To liaise and work closely with relevant Clinical Nurse Specialists / Ward Doctor / Clinical Team / Consultants / Primary Care Teams in the provision of a professional medical care, and use skills identified for the post to provide a specialist input to the care that is planned for and delivered to individual patients
  • Assess the educational and informational needs of the patient and family.  This includes producing and using appropriate materials to ensure optimum understanding of nursing care and the likely outcome.
  • Enable the patient and family to participate in the planning of care. 

What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Skilled in Spinal injuries
  • Assessing and mentoring qualification
  • Contemporaneous experience within neuro Rehab specialty
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
