Maxxima are searching for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within a multi - professional Learning Disability Team until August 2020, although candidates who cannot commit to the full 10 months will also be considered. The successful OT will work as a member of the multi-professional Learning Disability Team and will operate on a caseload basis, the clinical framework for this being; referral, planning, intervention, review and discharge. You will be expected to plan and implement client centered individual and/or group interventions, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals. The core aim of the post will be to provide OT interventions, based on identified health need, to adults who have a learning disability within any community setting. The post holder will also provide advice and support to families/carers and other provider agencies and their employees.
You will exercise full responsibility and autonomy for the OT recommendations regarding treatment options based on evidence based interventions, provide highly skilled OT assessments for complex cases, including functional assessments, equipment provision, manual handling, sensory assessments dementia assessments, and risk assessment.
In addition the post holder will act to safeguard and protect the rights of people with a learning disability, working within the Mental Capacity framework.
The post holder will liaise with GP's, acute and primary care clinical leads/partners from other service delivery teams as required and attend interface meetings as needed.

*Relevant courses in Sensory integration
*AMPS accreditation
*To be able to deal with situations which may lead to adjustments within teams' workload?
*Produce data for reports as required
*Occupational Therapy Degree
*Registration with Health Professions Council
*Car driver and holder of current UK driving licence
*Be able to use moving and handling equipment.
