Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Laboratory Receptionist/Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established laboratory based in the West Suffolk and Cambridgeshire area.

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic sample receptionist to join a friendly Laboratory team, working in our busy, purpose-built specialist veterinary centre. 

Location: Newmarket/Cambridge

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hrs: Full-time Hours

On a typical day you will:
  • Receive and process laboratory samples and booking these into our laboratory management system (LIMS)
  • Answer telephone/email queries, and carry out related administrative duties including entering results, posting samples and tracking workflow/outstanding cases
  • Members of the Laboratory Reception Team are the face and voice of this workplace
  • They are the first people that internal and external clients speak to and maintain relationships between the lab and our clinicians
  • They must be a professional and confident communicator, and be able to deal with a busy, fast-paced workplace
  • They need to be highly organised and able to prioritise the workload in busy periods
What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • The successful candidate will have strong written/verbal communication skills, be organised, self-motivated and have a drive for delivering outstanding client and patient care
  • Applicants should be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS office and the ability to quickly pick up our Laboratory information management system
  • A background in a medical or veterinary laboratory or veterinary hospital would be advantageous and those with previous veterinary receptionist or veterinary nursing experience would be very welcome to apply
  • Full training within the role will be provided
