Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Band 8a Speech and Language Therapy Lead, based in Central London.
You will report to the Therapy Manager and be accountable to the Director of Clinical Services.
Salary: £58,790 - £69,077
Location: Central London
Employment Type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 per week

On a typical day you will aim:
- To provide a specialist Speech and Language Therapy clinical role for patients and to act as a resource for Therapies, Nursing and other MDT colleagues across The London Clinic.
- To provide a speech and language lead for research, education and service development/innovation within these clinical areas in conjunction with Clinical Leads.
- To develop collaborative working practices with the MDT.
- To provide innovative clinical leadership and contribute to the strategic direction and operational policies of The London Clinic.
- To work with other lead professionals to support the development of a rehabilitation ethos within The London Clinic, improving knowledge & promoting best clinical practice to all staff.
- To develop and lead research & audit that contributes to the knowledge base and clinical practice of the speech and language therapy service and to integrate existing research into practice.
- To utilise advanced clinical skills in the comprehensive assessment of patients with diverse or complex presentations/multiple pathologies in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and formulate a management plan.
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, Health and Care Professions Council- Licence to practice registered
- Member Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Evidence of CPD
- Extensive experience of working in adult SLT.
- Experience of working in the management of head and neck cancer and intensive care.
- Independent management of altered airways.
- Experience of research and audit
