Maxxima is excited to offer a Band 6 Occupational Therapy Position, within an Adult mental health service with a private client, on a permanent or temporary basis.

The role:
  • Assisting in ensuring that an effective and efficient system of OT service delivery is maintained
  • Providing comprehensive initial and continuing OT assessments, according to the agreed model and in accordance with CPA guidelines and patient care plans
  • Assisting in the planning and running of suitable individual and/or group treatment programmes according to individual patient needs and to agreed intervention plans
  • Planning and regularly reviewing appropriate OT treatment programmes under the supervision of a Senior OT
  • Maintaining evaluation records of performance for individual patients, providing verbal or written data for ward rounds, assessment review meetings and actively participate in the clinical discussion of patients’ needs, in the development of patient care plans
  • Contributing towards mental health assessments contributing to patient recovery at Potters Bar Clinic
  • Liaising closely with other members of the clinical team, demonstrating a commitment to effective teamwork and patient centred care
  • Identifying and actioning relevant referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies, under the supervision of a Senior OT
  • Attending and actively contributing to CPA’s/case review meetings, working collaboratively with Patient Care Team colleagues in the planning and delivery of patients’ treatment programmes
  • Ensuring that professional standards and RCOT Code of Conduct guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring that local policies, procedures and protocols are adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring health and safety is maintained at all times and risk assessments are adhered to.
  • Respecting the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients and contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs
  • Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with professional and service standards
  • Ensuring effective communication is maintained with all patients, carers and any staff involved in the patients’ care

The successful candidate:
  •  The ideal candidate will deliver an Occupational Therapy service to a designated unit or specified patient group and assist in maintaining efficient and effective services in line with the current objectives, evidencing best practice standards.
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Driving Licence ( Ideal)
  • Expereince of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Expereince of working within mental health setting
  • Expereince in Occupational Therapy assessment processes and report writing
  • Expereince of Facilitating individual and group therapy

This role is availble as either a temporary/ locum contract paid on an hourly basis, £23-30 p/h, or on a permanent 12 month basis with a salary of 27-30,000 depending on experience.

The role is full-time Mon-Fri, but alternative working patterns can be discussed.
