Job description

Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious private hospital in London.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the pharmacy team to provide a co-ordinated pharmaceutical service which is broad-based, cost-effective and efficient, supporting the  optimisation of medicines safety and patient outcomes through the provision of excellent pharmaceutical care.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time 
Hrs: 37.5hrs (shifts, supporting a 24/7 rota)
What’s in it for you?
  • Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience
On a typical day you will:
  • Maintain and develop high quality, consistent, patient-focused pharmacy services in conjunction with clinical and patient services staff.
  • Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctly assemble prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed and in the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offering advice and answering any queries.
  • Order stock from supplies and manufacturers in accordance with the ordering procedures and securely store stock into the allocated areas, performing daily stock counts and ensuring rotation of stock and stock accuracy.
What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • NVQ Level 3  (or recognised equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Services (or similar)
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
  • GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Experience working in a Hospital Pharmacy, in the stores/distribution and dispensary departments.
