Job description

Maxxima are currently recruiting for a a Quality Assurance Specialist to work with the DHSC on Test and Trace.

The Team
 
A central Laboratory Validation and Quality Assurance Team, reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, assures the operational readiness of all Pillar 2 laboratories (including surge capacity) to provide high quality, validated, accurate and safe SARS Cov-2 testing services. This includes RT- PCR, ePCR, Direct LAMP and RNA LAMP, Reflex Tests and Genomic Sequencing in alignment with UKAS ISO 15189 or 17025 standards using an in-house validation and assurance process (including live audits).
 
 
 
 
Job description
 
Quality specialists are required, to work alongside Scientific Advisors, to support laboratory readiness activities and the ongoing quality management activity. The below requirements are key:
 
  • Conducted prior audits of Quality Management System’s within varied facilities (laboratories desirable)
  • Familiar with varied maturities of QMS and operating within regulatory guidance
  • Ongoing Quality Assurance experience (e.g. CAPA, Change Control, Risk Assessment)
  • Experience of stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (MHRA, CE IVD, UKAS ISO 15189/17205 standards).
 
It is worth noting, due to the dynamic nature of the operating environment, duties and responsibilities may change at short notice and in response to the operational and strategic demands associated with the evolving mandate of UKHSA.
 
 
 

 
Person specification
As well as experience of the above the successful candidate will have:
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Be able to work on their own as well as part of team.
  • Be a good communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Be able to analyse data and recommend correct action and/or improvements.
