Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for an Radiotherapy Senior Staff Nurse to work in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious private hospital specialising in oncology, neuro, cardiology and a range of complex surgery for adult patients.

Working as an Radiotherapy Senior Staff Nurse, you will be accountable for clinical practice, the delivery of quality clinical care, and a customer-focused driven service within the Radiotherapy team.

Location: Central London
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 Hours)
Hours: Monday – Friday, service covered between 8:30am – 5:30pm

On a typical day you will:
  • Support the team in managing complex oncology patient care.
  • Assist in the provision of expert advice and interventions within radiotherapy that maintains and improves standards of care and promotes a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
  • Contribute towards a multi-professional approach in the management of patients and co-ordination of their care within Radiotherapy by maintaining good working relationships with site specific CNS’s medical teams.
  • Demonstrate the skills for assessing and interpreting specialist acute and other patient conditions, initiating actions or escalating as appropriate. Providing specialist care and guidance on skin care to manage radiation reactions.
  • Support the Radiotherapy department by providing a high standard of care for both in-patients and out-patients.
  • Contribute to the educational needs of the patients and their families in understanding their treatment programme and preparing for this appropriately and also supporting the educational needs of the radiographers, ensuring clinical areas are maintained and staff are supported in emergency procedures.
  • Maintain own professional standards by attending MDT meetings where appropriate, Journal club, COMMS meetings, and quality review meetings, as well as playing a role within the audit element of the department.
  • Focus on the patient experience and support the senior team to improve and implement patient experience measures

What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • Evidence in health / nursing-related studies with on-going personal and professional development.
  • Registered Nurse with three years of experience in oncology care. Radiotherapy knowledge and experience desirable but compulsory.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the service requirement.
  • Strong organisational skills working across many modalities.
