Maxxima Nursing Team has a new exciting opportunity for COVID school vaccinators in Shropshire.

In this role you will be delivering COVID-19 vaccinations.

We are looking for registered nurses to start asap and this will run through until at least the end of 2021.

The pay rate for this COVID Nurse vaccinator role is £23 PH Umbrella

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust currently require an Agency RGN or RSCN to work within our Children’s Immunisation and Vaccination Team during our Flu Programme.

We are looking for cover of Registered Nurses who can work; 0900-1500 Monday to Friday. There may be occasions in the roster where the nurse may be required to work 0800-1600 to help with the collection and return of vaccinations at base. There is no weekend working requirement currently.

Due to the nature of the delivery of the service, the location of the role is variable across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin as vaccinations are administered within Primary & Secondary Schools across the county.

We would be looking for the RGN To be confident & competent in the following skills:

  • Post Registration Experience

An experience of delivering immunisation programme, working with children and young people and/or working in the community is desirable however not essential.

Additional Training is required for this role and is role specific, ideally this should be undertaken prior to commencing the role (This training can be accessed from home; certificate proof of completion will be required):

        • Immunology
        • Communicating with Patients, Parents and Carers
        • Legal Aspects and Legal Aspects Assessment
        • Vaccine Storage and Vaccine Storage Assessment
        • Vaccine Administration and Vaccine Administration Assessment
      • Patient Group Directive (PGD) e-LfH Hub
      • Core Knowledge for Flu Immunisers e-LfH Hub
      • Inactivated Flu Vaccines e-LfH Hub

This post will require the Registered Nurse to travel & therefore the worker will need to have their own car and business insurance.

Requirements for this role:

  • You must be a registered nurse with valid NMC pin
  • You will ideally have experience delivering COVID vaccinations
  • You must be fully registered with our agency
  • You must have completed vaccination training or be happy to do so
