Job description
Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Specialist Occupational Therapist Rotational to be based in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious private hospital in London.
As an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, the specialist Occupational Therapist will assess, treat and manage their own caseload developing specialist occupational therapy skills in neurosciences.
The role will predominantly cover our neuro-rehabilitation and neurosurgery services providing highly effective, innovative and evidenced based therapy provision. It will also offer some clinical support to other specialties for example orthopaedics and general surgery.
Location: Central London
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hrs: 7 day working pattern, respiratory on calls, each team have shifts either 8am-1600, 10:00-18:00 and only on ortho the additional 12:00- 20:00

What’s in it for you?
- Salary: £40’000 dependent on experience + Benefits
- Be responsible for all aspects of your work including safe and effective management of clinical and non-clinical caseloads
- Effectively apply clinical reasoning to assess, progress, adapt and treat patients seeking guidance at appropriate times to ensure safe and effective care
- Be able to identify risk within clinical setting including potential safety issues around care and discharge and communicate this effectively with support as appropriate.
- Educate and train occupational therapists and other MDT members with innovation and passion around the role of occupational therapy and rehabilitation.
- Take a proactive lead in using routine outcome measures to improve patient care
- Provide highly supportive supervision and coaching to other Caregivers and students
- Degree in relevant AHP area
- Post-graduation experience and education in occupational therapy and the areas of cognition and challenging behaviour
- Evidence of training / experience in appraisal, supervision of other Caregivers/students
- Evidence of continuous professional / academic development relevant to clinical field
