Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for MRI Superintendent/Lead for a leading private hospital group based in West London.
As Superintendent MRI Radiographer, you will facilitate the day to day management of all radiographers in the department, their clinical effectiveness and professional development in line with department policies; ensuring that you maintain a high quality service.
Location: West London
Employment Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

As Superintendent MRI Radiographer, you will facilitate the day to day management of all radiographers in the department, their clinical effectiveness and professional development in line with department policies; ensuring that you maintain a high quality service.

What’s in it for you?

On a typical day you will:
- Responsible for the service of two MRI scanners – 3T and 1.5T
- Site lead for all clinical queries relating to the MRI service as well as be the site contact person for all queries from radiographers, consultants and other colleagues
- Provide professional leadership and efficiency in the day-to-day running of the department
- Co-ordinate dates for routine equipment servicing with the relevant service centre. File equipment services and engineer visits including fault reporting and managing the diaries as required.
- Manage the MEDITECH diary - manage the opening times of the scanner and ensure reserved slots are allocated appropriately for the year. Ensure lists are blocked for routine service days.
- Manage all HR processes related to managing a team
- Ensure high quality imaging is provided to our consultants and liaise with relevant radiologist to allow for image optimisation.
- Manage and train radiographers to use the MRI Scanners – help to keep the training framework current and ensure that competency documents are completed annually by the radiographers in your team.
- Oversee all aspects of safety to both patients and staff. Complete and review risk assessments for the MRI Scanning together with the H&S rep. This will include reporting and investigating DATIX incidents.
- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Radiography
- HCPC registered
- A post graduate qualification is desired
- Extensive MRI Experience and must be able to conduct a wide range of MRI scans upon a range of patient types IV cannulations qualification necessary
- Previous management in an Imaging department would be a preference
