Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Theatre Practitioner/Scrub Nurse based in Greater London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a private hospital renowned for over sixty years of providing a high level of service to the local community and is frequently ranked by patients as one of the top private hospitals in London.
As a Theatre Practitioner/Scrub Nurse, you will support the Theatre Manager to provide patient care during the pre, peri and post-operative phase of a surgical patient’s care within the hospital, whilst ensuring a high standard of professional practice and clinical care under direct supervision, working within the theatre team to promote a good working environment.
Location: Greater London
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 Hours)
Hrs: Shifts, including lates, weekends, and an on-call rota

On a typical day you will:
  • Implement basic pre, peri and post-operative nursing care independently and also implement new/complex care with supervision.
  • Participate with the multi-disciplinary team in decision making regarding patient care, and facilitate a question and answer dialogue with patients and relatives.
  • Recognise potential clinical challenges and ways of dealing with them.
  • Delegate suitable clinical care to junior staff whilst developing preceptorship skills and actively supporting peers.
What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin
  • Six months post registration experience
  • Basic theatre skills and up to date clinical knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team within a multidisciplinary environment with minimal supervision
  • An interpersonal, patient focused approach
