Being a locum: Sheila's relocation story

Back to Blogs

We understand that moving to a new country can be daunting and hectic. That’s why at Maxxima, we like to ensure that all our candidates feel supported and at ease when they work with us. How do we do this? The answer is by making the process as easy as possible for our workers.

What do our candidates think? Well, we asked one of our clinical physiology professionals who relocated from Portugal to tell us about her experience.

“When I decided to move from Portugal to the UK, I felt safe and confident due to the extensive guidance and support from my Maxxima consultant. My consultant was committed to finding the best suited opportunities for me, not only within the workplace but also in the process of finding accommodation. This was a huge relief for me, having decided to move to a country without knowing anything or anyone!

After working closely with my consultant, I had the privilege of being employed in a hospital with a brilliant working environment and the opportunity to reach my full potential.

My experience so far has been great. I am growing as a person and even more so as a professional. After this experience, I definitely feel more confident to pursue my goals, and I know that Maxxima will be there to support me in doing so.

I am very grateful to have my consultant representing me, because he is always kind, attentive and genuinely interested in my wellbeing, always making sure that I was happy with my role and well settled in the accommodation.

I give Maxxima my highest recommendation, it is a great company for anyone who wants to work hard and progress, but needs a little support to do so.”
