Tell me more about University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust

Here at Maxxima, we provide temporary locum Allied Health and Health Science workers to University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, and County Hospital.

Maxxima works collaboratively with the Trust to guarantee recruitment demands are managed, and to ensure positions are filled efficiently and effectively – hiring the right people, at the right time.

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust care for over two million people each year including emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care. Thanks to a historic £250m investment in the Trust, the Royal Stoke has received £25m to develop improved and additional facilities, as well as a further £22m to spend on IT systems and medical equipment.£52m has been invested in County Hospital, located in Stafford, to renovate and enhance their patient areas and wards.

Between the two hospitals, a full range of general acute hospital services are provided to around 700,000 people living in and around Staffordshire, with Royal Stoke providing specialist care such as cardiac, cardiothoracic and neuro surgeries, cancer services, renal and dialysis, and care for children to those further afield.

Following the heavy investment and rejuvenation of the sites, the people of Staffordshire can be proud of their two hospitals.

By working at either Royal Stoke University Hospital, or County Hospital, employees are presented with great opportunities – whether permanent staff or temporary locum workers.

With professional development of staff as a high priority, by being on placement in this trust employees are given the chance to expand on their skills as a healthcare professional.

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is continually searching for high quality candidates to join the team.

Living and working in Staffordshire as a healthcare worker

Situated right in the heart of the UK, Staffordshire is near to some of the country’s main motorways and train lines, as well as three international airports. There are some great, easily accessible places to live and visit in Staffordshire, like Stoke-on-Trent; rich with the culture and heritage of the ceramics industry, whilst Burton upon Trent, the friendly market-town neighbouring Derbyshire, is full of brewing history and picturesque villages.

Staffordshire is packed full of world-class attractions, such as Alton Towers, the real-life Downton Abbey at Weston Park, and Uttoxeter Racecourse. It is also home to breath-taking scenery, which you can explore at the National Forest, the Staffordshire Peak District, Cannock Chase, and Kinver Edge.

Other attractions across the county include the beautiful Lichfield Cathedral, family days out to Tamworth Castle, brimming with ghost and princess stories, and a visit to the Churnet Valley Railway where you can ride on the heritage steam trains!
