Speech and language therapy jobs near you
Searching for your next speech and language therapy job? We’re the UK’s speech therapy recruitment experts so you can wave goodbye to unsuccessful job searching. We have a wide range of full-time and flexible locum jobs within the NHS and private sector just waiting to be filled.
What roles do we have available?
Our expert recruitment consultants specialise in finding jobs in the speech therapy field, including positions in acute, school settings or the community – in both the NHS and private sector.
We provide a wide variety of locum and permanent placements, covering all levels from speech therapy assistant jobs to Band 5, Band 6 and Band 7 speech therapist jobs.

What is a speech therapist’s salary?
As a locum worker, your rate of pay will be discussed between you and your consultant at the point of finding you a fantastic opportunity. There are a few factors involved in negotiating your overall pay, including experience, specialist expertise, location and setting. London living costs are also taken into consideration and uplifts are applied where relevant.
Should you be looking for a permanent placement, your annual salary offer and remuneration package will be discussed between you and your consultant at Maxxima during your application.
NHS Employers provides information around NHS Terms and Conditions of Service, pay and allowances from 1 April 2020. Please see the agenda for change pay scales for a full breakdown.

Working as a locum speech therapist
In a locum speech and language therapist job, you are granted unique opportunities that don’t come with a full-time, permanent role. For example, you are able to choose your own shifts, and you have the option to gain experience in a number of healthcare organisations, including the private sector and the NHS. With nearly 14,000 SLTs practicing within the NHS, schools and private practices in the UK, it’s a great time to begin a career as a locum speech therapist.
