Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to fill a full time role in Lancaster The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge and skills working within Acute Mental Health.
 
The team are offering full time hours, working shifts over 7 days, so weekend working may be required.
 
The team are based at the Mental Health Urgent Assessment Centre, providing support to Home Treatment Team (HTT), and Mental Health Liaison (MHLT) at Both the Mental Health Urgent Assessment Canter (MHUAC) and Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI).
 
In this role you must be able to complete the following-
  • Responsible for own accurate documentation completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure activity data is recorded in databases.
  • Undertake administrative tasks, including the maintenance and production of records, reports and statistics as required.
  • To clearly communicate with Service User’s and Carer’s, actively listen to establish an understanding of their needs, enabling them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Interacting with Service Users which may involve providing information and using skills to overcome barriers in an empathic and re-assuring manner
  • To ensure that they are informing/updating all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, MHLT and HTT colleagues, acute trust staff (at RLI), Service Users and appropriate others of changes involving current operational care plans, progress, mental state and bio psychosocial factors in line with best practice.
  • Provide emotional and relational support to patients, at either base (MHUAC and RLI- Wards and Accident and Emergency Department).
  • To support patients who may or may not display symptoms of Covid 19, following trust policies and procedures regarding social distancing and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • To wear scrubs/uniform/own clothing and bring separate clothing to change into following shift
  • To provide telephone support for patients making contact for support through the HTT
  • To accompany practitioners on home visits where identified
 
The pay rate for this locum Band 3 Health Care Assistant  job is £11.00 per hour (Umbrella) with increasing to £15.00 (Saturday) and £20.00 (Sunday) per hour for weekend shifts . This role is to start as soon as possible and is initially until Jan 2021 but is likely to be extended.
 
Requirements of the Band 3 Health Care Assistant role:
  • You must have at least 12 months recent experience as a HCA
  • You must have worked in an Acute setting
  • You must have NHS experience
