Job description

Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to fill a full-time role in the Dementia Intensive Support Team based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Community Mental Health and the practices within the NHS.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced band 6 nurse who has extensive experience of working with service users who have Dementia in the community.
This role will be Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, for at least the next 3 months, with the likelihood of extension.
The pay rate for this Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse is £23.00 per hour (Umbrella).
Requirements of this Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse vacancy:
  • All applications must be registered mental health nurses with Valid NMC pin.
  • They will need to have excellent communication and engagement skills to work with this client group and experience of communicating with other services and agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
  • They will need to have the ability to be responsive, and calm when working in crisis situations.
  • They will need to have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary way.
  • They will need to have an extensive knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
  • They will need to have awareness and understanding of safeguarding issues
  • They will need IT skills as all records are electronic for the team.
