Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to fill a full-time role in North West London. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of mental health practices in the NHS
 The post holder will work as an integral part of the Team, which will include liaising with patients, their carers, relatives and visitors, medical and nursing staff, general practitioners, administrative staff, allied health professionals and other internal and external agencies and departments.
The post holder is accountable for the Intensive Support and Duty and will:
  • Provide effective leadership and management
  • Promote and monitor safe and effective practice
  • Enhance the patient/client experience ensuring effective engagement
  • Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives
  • Ensure national standards and local guidelines, policies and care pathways are effectively delivered
  • Undertake assessments and intervention for clients referred to the services
  • To lead and contribute to the duty process for the Older Adult Mental Health Community team and memory service, including the receipt of referrals and triaging for the CMHT
  • To lead and contribute to the initial assessments of clients referred to the CMHT and intensive support
The pay rate for this Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner is £24.00 per hour (Umbrella), working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, and is a 3 month initially contract (likely to be extended) to start ASAP.
Requirements of this Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner role
  • Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse or Qualified Social Worker
  • Experience of working within a community mental health team
  • Experience or keen interest in working with elderly service users
