Maxxima are currently recruiting for an experienced Physiotherapist for a MSK role in Berkshire. 
  • Job Title: Band 6 Physiotherapist
  • Location: Upton Hospital, Slough, Berkshire
  • Ward: MSK Physiotherapy
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 2 Month placement, depending on start date
  • Working Pattern: 37.5hrs Mon-Fri (can be flexible)
  • Shift Pattern: 8-4 (can be flexible)
  • Specific Skills: 
    • A sound background of MSK out -patient experience at a band 6 level
    • Previous NHS experience referable but would consider other good candidates
    • Smart card and familiar with RIO ideally
    • To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy services to musculo-skeletal patients who access our service.
    • Working as part of the Trust’s musculoskeletal team with responsibility for own caseload, without direct supervision. Indirect Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, mentoring and clinical supervision.
    • To provide clinical leadership and training to band 5 Physiotherapists, Technicians, and undergraduate students.
    • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
    • Responsible for the advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of musculoskeletal patients, provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme both in department and within GP surgeries.
    • Contribute to the development of the service.

  • Job Title: Band 6 Physiotherapist
  • Location: West Berkshire Community Hospital
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: TBC
  • Working Pattern: 22 hours, 3-5 days between Monday and Friday
  • Shift Pattern: During core hours of 08:30-16:30
  • Specific Skills:
    • Band 6 should be able to manage their own caseload effectively with ability to prioritise appropriately and communicate to the Multi-disciplinary team effectively and efficiently. Experience working with older adults in an Inpatients setting and have experience of using RIO for electronic documentation.
    • The postholder will have autonomous clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, whilst working with adults within the inpatient service at West Berkshire Community Hospital (WBCH).  This will entail providing assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients who often present with multi-pathologies covering a wide range of conditions including medical, musculo-skeletal, post-operative, palliative care,  neuro-rehabilitation and respiratory.   
    • To provide high quality, responsive Physiotherapy services working as an integral member of the inpatient multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) and working closely with social services for people with a wide range of complex and highly complex conditions. This will include case MDT meetings, Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings and discharge planning and should ensure that all highly complex patient information is managed professionally with consideration for patient confidentiality and in line with data protection guidelines.
    • Would consider an experienced Band 5 with 9 months inpatient experience
    • Band 6 must have inpatient or community experience - not outpatient
