Job description

Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner to fill a full-time role within this NHS Mental Health Team in Vauxhall/Pimlico area. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of mental health and primary care practices in the community.

This role will involve a number of elements which will support the management of people with mental health conditions in primary care, who would have been previously managed by secondary care mental health services. In the first instance the focus will be on facilitating discharge from secondary care and providing support in primary care.

The pay rate for this Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Worker is £26.00 per hour (Umbrella), working Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm. This role is to start asap and is for the duration of 6 months.

Requirements of this Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Worker

  • Experience working within a community mental health team and ideally primary care
  • Knowledge of counselling skills/cognitive behavioral skills, psychosocial interventions
  • Knowledge of recovery approaches as used with those with mental health conditions
  • Must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with NMC pin
