Maxxima are currently recruiting for a mental health pharmacist to fill a pharmacist role in West Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have experience working in NHS pharmacy department.

While many appointments are on hold as the country reacts to Covid-19 and a second lockdown, we have still been in regular contact with managers who book locums. They have informed us that while Covid-19 remains the priority, they are looking for a pharmacist to fill this role. You would be expected to deliver an effective clinical pharmacy service to designated wards and assist in the overall provision of the pharmacy teams. Performing this service would include;
  • Taking drug histories on admission.
    • Reviewing medication to ensure safe and effective use.
    • The formulation of individual care plans.
    • Reviewing and updating care plans depending on response, results of
    investigations and adverse effects.
    • Therapeutic drug monitoring for specific drugs.
    • Educate patients about their drug therapy.

This role is Monday to Friday, approximately 37.5 hours a week, with potentially longer days and weekend shifts available.
The pay rate for this mental health pharmacist role is approximately £32.00 - £34.00 per hour (umbrella equivalent and dependant on experience).

Requirements of this pharmacist vacancy:
  • Masters or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy
  • Be registered with the GPhC
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Mental Health Pharmacy
  • Have Experience within the NHS and of mental health pharmacy
