Job description

Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for an ICU Healthcare Assistant in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious private hospital in London.
As a ICU HCA, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide safe, effective, efficient care for patients and relatives. You will primarily be involved in assisting nursing, medical and allied health Caregivers in the critical care departments, always working in a manner that promotes privacy and dignity.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time 
Hrs: 37.5hrs (shifts)
What’s in it for you?
  • Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience
On a typical day you will:
  • Provide high quality patient care to patients under the supervision of trained nursing Caregivers and develop competence in carrying out tasks such as patient hygiene, nutritional requirements performing Blood Gas tests etc
  • Use computer system (EPIC and Windows) to access and update patient records, undertaking administrative duties such as, answering phone calls, directing visitors as
  • Assist clinical caregivers in transporting patients using different methods of transportation – e.g. trolleys, beds, using the correct moving and handling techniques.
  • Ensure patient bedrooms trolleys are stocked as required and assist the nursing and materials teams with re-stocking the Ward

What will you need to succeed in this role?

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Care Certificate
  • Basic Life Support qualification required upon hire, or within 3 months of hire
  • Previous broad experience in the acute care and critical care field.
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a complex environment and supervise junior HealthcareAssistants of the team ensuring high quality safe and effective patient care.
