Job description

Maxxima has an exciting opportunity for an expereinced occupational therapist to work in the scenic western isles of Scotland.

  • The successful candidate must have experience of working clinically at band 6 level or above.
  • A driving license and access to a car for work purposes is essential.
  • Need to be experienced in Stroke and Neurology rehabilitation and if possible, also in Rheumatology and Hand conditions, including splinting.  
  • Happy to temporarily relocate 

About the positon/ team:

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, supportive and integrated Occupational Therapy team who work across the hospital and community.  We are currently recruiting to the Rheumatology and Hand condition OT post and have a short-term absence in the Stroke and Neurology post. 
NHS Western Isles work within the Scottish national contract and agencies out with this would be expected to meet these terms and conditions. 
There is staff accommodation available in the staff residences which are charged at £25 per night for 14 nights and £18 a night thereafter, the accommodation is shared kitchen /bathrooms/living area with separate bedrooms. Alternatively local estate agents may have rental accommodation available. 
The islands are a beautiful place to visit. The Isles offer a wealth of activities for the outdoor enthusiast, with wide open spaces and easy access to rugged hills and spectacular beaches. The Isles also have a rich cultural heritage with Gaelic widely spoken and regular cultural and sporting events throughout the year. 
  The duration of the contract would initially be a month ( or week to week) with joint agreement this could be extended, I would ideally like someone to start by the 1 November 2021.   
 All staff are encouraged to perform lateral flow tests 2x weekly. 

Rates will range from £22-28 p/h
