Maxxima’s Social Work team are currently recruiting for NHS Mental Health Social Workers to fill a full-time job role in Nottinghamshire
The roles will be based within Social Work Services, who are looking for NHS Mental Health Social Workers to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis.
The pay rate for this role is up to £28 per hour

Role Purpose:
To provide an excellent social work service to patients and their families/carers in line with the National Standards for the provision of Social Care Services in the High Security Hospitals.
Role Context:
Providing a social work service in accordance with National Standards to a clinical caseload of forensic psychiatric patients detained in high security .Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team (MDT), within a Clinical Care Stream and represent the Social Care Service (SCS) internally and externally. This requires liaison to provide the interface between the MDT, family/carers, social care agencies and probation; identifying, assessing and managing risk whilst balancing public protection with quality of life and effective treatment for patients; identifying and challenging discriminatory structures and practices so as to engage effectively with patients and their carers. Take a lead role in relation to safeguarding adults and children in particular procedures based on the Government Directions for visits by children to the High Secure Hospitals.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Delivering a social work service to a Clinical Care Stream in line with National Standards, policies and procedures
  • Working with autonomy and discretion within this broad framework
  • Working within the legislative framework, particularly the Mental Health Act, Criminal Justice Legislation, the Care Act, a Care Programme Approach and the Children Act.  Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, Trust policies, hospital and service procedures, statutory guidance and research
  • Complying with priorities embodied in Key Performance Indicators set on the basis of the National Standards, which are performance managed by the Trust & Commissioners.
  • Monitoring quality of work & quality improvement in management supervision and with peers
  • Completing and presenting structured, integrated and well argued reports – for persons referred to Admission Panels; a social history for the initial Care Programme Review (CPR); reports for all subsequent CPR’s, Mental Health Tribunals and providing other reports as necessary (e.g.S117 Meetings, Managers Reviews, Multi-Agency Public Protection Panels)
  • Participating in Clinical Care Stream Admission Multi-Disciplinary Panels
