Job description

The Occupational Therapy team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist in Homerton. If successful, you will be working full-time hours from Monday to Friday. As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess and implement appropriate treatment for a range of neurological conditions including cognitive, perceptual and behavioural difficulties. Previous working experience in NHS is essential for this role.

Duration: 3 months contract
 
Essential skills:
  • HCPC registered
  • Ability to assess and implement appropriate treatment for a range of neurological conditions including cognitive, perceptual and behavioural difficulties
  • Evidence of clinical skill in neurology.
  • Able to manage caseload and to prioritise under pressure for self and team
  • Effective discharge planning skills.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with all disciplines and service users to optimise management
  • Clear, concise verbal and written reporting skills
  • Teaching skills with a range of groups
  • Able to supervise and appraise staff and identify development/training needs
  • Be familiar with Windows based packages
  • Awareness of own competency level and how to seek appropriate help
  • Able to supervise and develop Occupational Therapy students
  • Ability to prepare and resent clinical case examples, audit/ service projects to a professional audience (MDT, trust, SIG, conference etc)
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy
