The Biomedical Science team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in to work in a busy NHS Hospital in Kirkwall. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory's haematology, blood transfusion and biochemistry service.

Location: Kirkwall
Hours: 37.5
Duration: 6 months
Payrate:  £24 - £30

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in haematology you will be expected to have an excellent experience in using analysers for full blood counts (FBC) and for coagulation. You will be experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting the analysers alongside your usual duty in loading and operation. Blood film morphology experience would be preferential but is not essential for this role
 
What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in blood transfusion you will be confident in ensuring that the correct blood type is received by the recipient. You will have experience in using analysers for blood group testing and using the relevant equipment for cross matching. Experience with complex transfusion reactions would be preferential but not essential.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry, you will be expected to be an expert in biochemistry automation undertaken with analysers. You will be comfortable , loading, operating and maintaining these analyser and being able to validate results. Experience with troubleshooting the equipment would be ideal.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:
• HCPC registered
• UK NHS or private sector experience
