Job description

The Occupational Therapy team at Maxxima are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist in Bishop's Stortford. If successful, you will be working full-time or part-time hours from Monday to Friday. Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable for this role.

Position: inpatient unit 
Banding: 6 
Location: Bishop's Stortford
Hours: 8am - 4pm 
Duration: 3 months (possible extension) 

Essential skills:
• HCPC registered
• Experience of working within the NHS
• Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy
• experince in inpatient setting 
• To provide highly specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals. • To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients who may have diverse, chronic presentation and highly complex physical and psychological conditions; to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme which will contribute to safe discharges and prevention of hospital admissions. • To undertake the comprehensive specialist assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills and standardised assessments where applicable. • To assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. • To formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy management and treatment programme, based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options; to use specialist assessment, clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment techniques. • To carry out rehabilitation programmes with patients in conjunction with other members of the team to maximise patients functional ability in activities of daily living.
