Job description

An Amazing Occupational Therapist role based in an Good rated care home in East Finchley. We provide residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care. We understand the importance of personalised care that centralises the needs of the Resident, with an on-site therapy team, which includes a dietitian, and a wealth of activities for Residents to enjoy.

The Role 
As an Occupational Therapist you will work with residents (across sites) for 37.5 hours a week- from initial assessment, to forming a relationship and performing a variety of treatment options and interventions both psychologically and physiologically.

What will your typical day involve?
  • Providing a wide variety of therapeutic treatment in both a health and general wellbeing capacity.
  • Carrying out personal and environmental assessments for new admissions and internal transfers.
  • Carrying out seating assessments and providing postural adjustments for wheelchairs and static chairs.
  • Documenting and liaising with appropriate teams to keep advice and plans up to date.
  • Taking an active role in the therapy team/department. This includes team meetings, joined up working, contributions towards a safe, clean, effective working environment.
  • Holding multi-disciplinary meetings and liaise with relatives and external agencies as necessary.

You have HCPC professional registration and have previously worked with older people, including those with dementia.
You will be able to multi-task, completing duties promptly and in a timely manner. You will also have strong communication skills to effectively link residents, relatives, colleagues, and external agencies.
