Maxxima extends Master Vendor status with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

Maxxima is proud to announce another master vendor renewal agreement, this time with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust! This means we will continue to support with all Allied Health and Health Science temporary staffing at Royal Derby Hospital, and Queen’s Hospital Burton, as well as at Florence Nightingale, Sir Robert Peel, and Samuel Johnson Community Hospitals.

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2018 bringing together five hospitals in Derby, Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth. These sites provide care for almost one million people around southern Derbyshire, Burton-Upon-Trent, and South Staffordshire through the expertise of their 12,000 staff.

We are extremely pleased to be working in partnership with so many Trusts across the Midlands; we also exclusively support staffing at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, University Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust, University Hospitals North Midlandsand Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

Royal Derby Hospital

After undergoing a £334 million transformation, the Royal Derby Hospital was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh in 2010.

The Royal Derby boasts modern surroundings along with state-of-the-art facilities and care, treating around one million patients each year. With 1,159 beds, 35 operating theatres, four linear accelerators for treating cancer patients, two MRI scanners and a Da Vinci surgical robot, the best possible care is ensured at all times. 


Queen’s Hospital Burton

Queen’s Hospital Burton is the principal provider of acute hospital services for Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas, serving an approximate population of 360,000. 

The hospital is committed to delivering high quality patient care through its expansive range of facilities, including full complement of an emergency department, outpatient, and direct access services. It also comprises a comprehensive range of clinical services in therapies, pharmacy, pathology, and radiology plus dedicated facilities such as an endoscopy suite and breast care unit.

Florence Nightingale Community Hospital

Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, home to 60 departments and 700 staff, provides rehabilitation and intermediate care, inpatient facilities and some outpatient services to around 184,00 patients every year.

Samuel Johnson Community Hospital

The Samuel Johnson Community Hospital, named after the 18th century writer of the first ever dictionary, offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services in the heart of Lichfield, bringing NHS services closer to the whole community.

They offer an array of services, from x-rays and ultrasound scans through to day case surgery, renal dialysis and rehabilitation services, as well as a midwife-led maternity unit and antenatal clinics.

Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital

Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital is named after 19th century Prime Minister and Home Secretary, The Right Honourable Sir Robert Peel. The hospital sits in the heart of the community offering a range of healthcare services; a minor injuries unit, x-rays, ultrasound scans, an endoscopy unit and day surgery for non-complex procedures. The hospital also provides rehabilitation, care of older people and general medical care.
